The withdrawal transaction can no longer be reported using the Form 100 Membership document. A signed personal communication from the member requesting withdrawal (resignation) is required to be sent to the Council Grand Knight to be forwarded to the Supreme Council office. A copy of that letter should be sent to the district Deputy and State Deputy.

In good standing financially is not a consideration and a member can resign whether or not he is current in his dues. some grand Knights are encouraging members to request a withdrawal card rather than face suspension. however the Grand Knight should keep in mind that a withdrawal is treated the same as a suspension towards a council's membership quota. The letter of withdrawal should be in the Knight's own words and should never be on a general form letter.
